Mid-Year Book Freak Out Tag!

Hello guys!

I know I've been inconsistent with my blog posting (don't kill me),

but I was applying for colleges and I got accepted into one. Also, my graduation was on the 24th so I had little time to post since I was prepping for it and what not. I hope you understand..

I thought I'd do a tag since I haven't done one in a looong time. I haven't been tagged (as usual), so feel free to post your answers in the comments or link me to your blog post if you decide to do one. I'd LOVE to read your answers.

I NEED YOUR HELP. I'm thinking of transferring to WordPress, and buying a whole new design for my blog because this one is ugly. If you are experienced or know anything PLEASE tell me down below.

Questions

1. Best Book You've Read So Far in 2015?

For this, I'll probably say Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas. This book was incredible and it sucked me into fantasy, I want more and I honestly cannot wait for Heir of Fire to come out in paperback on the website that I buy books from here in Egypt. I AM SOOO READY!

2. Best Sequel You've Read So Far in 2015?

Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas. Need I say more? Do you realize how freaking AMAZING this series is? You have no idea how much I fell in love that the second I flipped the last page of this book, I wanted to instantly re-read the whole series. Great writing, kick ass characters and an epic plot line.

3. New Release You Haven't Read Yet, But Want To?

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir & The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh. I've heard great things about both of these books and they're being turned into series so yayy!

4. Most Anticipated Release For Second Half of 2015?

Queen of Shadows by Sarah J Maas. I know I'm being repetitive but this series is perfection and if you haven't started it yet, what are you doing with your life?..

5. Biggest Disappointment?

Me & Earl & The Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews alongside Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover. I KNOW. I expected SOO much from a CoHo book and I didn't get that at all, instead I got a whiny character who lacks self-pride/esteem.

6. Biggest Surprise?

Never Never by Colleen Hoover. I read that book and the second one in one sitting,

because I was soo intrigued to continue on to receive answers and I didn't! Wait for my review coming very soon :) Also, Angelfall by Susan Ee. I loved the darkness of that book!

7. Favourite New Author?

Amy Zhang author of Falling into Place. This book made it to my favourite books of all time!

8. Newest Fictional Crush?

WARNER from Shatter Me. Duh. Also, Olly from Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon, aahhh I love Olly and this book and the storyyyy. I can't wait for it to come out.

9. Newest Favourite Character?

Kenji from the Shatter Me series. I loove love love him and I want him to be my best friend now.

10. Book That Made You Cry?

I didn't ugly cry, I just teared up a bit. All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven. Not that great of a book, but great story.

11. Book That Made You Happy?

Hands down Simon vs the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli. This book is also one of my favourites of all time. You have no idea how genuinely happy I felt while reading this book. I was TOO overwhelmed with how adorable the relationship is. Plus, two thumbs up for diversity as well!

12. Favourite Book To Movie Adaptation You Saw This Year?

Definitely Insurgent. I loved the movie and I saw it on my birthday in March with my boyfriend and my best friends so it makes it all the more special! I don't understand how anybody would dislike this movie.. It was great

13. Favourite Review You've Written This Year?

My review for Confess by Colleen Hoover!! I felt a lot of feelings and I fell in love with that book. The words were from the heart so check it out if you haven't already & check out the book as well!

14. Most Beautiful Book You Bought So Far This Year?

The hardcover of A Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender. OH GOD THIS BOOK IS BEAUTIFUL. I jumped up and down and was soo ecstatic to open the package for this one!

15. What Books Do You Need To Read By The End of The Year?

There's a lot..

1. Cinder by Marissa Meyer
2. The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
3. How to Love by Katie Cotugno

4. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
5. World After by Susan Ee
6. Heir of Fire by Sarah J Maas

These are the most important ones, the rest I really hope I do.

This was a fun tag to do! I hope you enjoyed. Have an awesome day♥

Infinity Dreams Award

Hey guys!

(Sorry for the late post)

Yay I love awards, they're really cool haha

I've been nominated by the beautiful Giselle @ Perks of Being A Reader, thank you Giselle for the nomination. Go check out her blog! She's amazing <3
I'm soooo late on this, but hey! Better Late then never right?

The Rules
  1. Thank and Follow the blog that has nominated you.
  2. Tell us 11 facts about you.

  4. Nominate 11 and make your questions for them.
11 Facts About Me
  1. I get super anxious about almost everything
  2. I have a phobia of mice/rats

  4. I haven't read anything by Cassandra Clare.. I know, shocker.
  5. I barely watch TV anymore, I'm an avid YouTube watcher
  6. Black is my absolute favorite color (it's a color to me, not a shade so yeah)

Maroon 5 - She Will Be Loved. It has been my favorite song ever since I was in 7th grade.

7. What did you want want  when you were a kid.

BOOK TAG: Reader Problems Tag

Hello everyone! I haven't been tagged by anyone to do this tag, but I'll do it anyways! I saw it on booktube and decided I'm going to do it :)

1. You have 20,000 books on your TBR. How in the world do you decide what to read next?

According to my mood pretty much, I stare at my TBR shelves and the first book I lay my hands on, I read next!

2. You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you quit or are you committed?

Depends on the book, if I've heard good things about it, I will surely finish it. If it's just not for me and it hasn't intrigued me in any way, I put it down. I have done this to only 4 or 5 books though that are the worst I've ever read.

3. The end of the year is coming and you’re so close, but so far away on your Goodreads reading challenge. Do you try to catch up and how?

I try to catch up! I'm so competitive and I love me a challenge. I was 20 books behind this summer (due to excessive school work) so I started reading like crazy. Two tips I'd recommend are (1) Reading short books, maybe novellas. (2) Listening to audio-books.

4. The covers of a series you love do. not. match. How do you cope?

Unlike everyone, I'm not really annoyed by that matter. Besides, where I live, they sell paperbacks and I buy the whole series at once. It's not an issue really..

5. Every one and their mother loves a book you really don’t like. Who do you bond with over shared feelings?

Goodreads is my place to go.. I don't have any avid reader friends, sadly. Usually, I'll find someone somewhere on goodreads that dislikes the same book as I do. Although I rarely dislike a book, everyone else I know in real life loved Fifty Shades of Grey, most booktubers didn't and I was extremely thankful for that, since I was so lost and confused. I wanted to discuss this, okay? haha

6. You’re reading a book and you are about to start crying in public. How do you deal?

I let it out! haha, I really don't care about what others think. When I was reading The Maze Runner, I cried and people haven't really noticed. It's not like I'm going to read TFIOS or The Book Thief in public though, I know better. These books will make you live in your bed for a couple of days.

7. A sequel of a book you loved just came out, but you’ve forgotten a lot from the prior novel. Will you re-read the book? Skip the sequel? Try to find a synopsis on Goodreads? Cry in frustration?!?!?!?

I'm NEVER a re-reader. I would never re-read a book, unless it's crucial. The logical thing that I do is go on a beautiful place called the internet and find myself a detailed summary/ recaption of the first book. They usually refresh my brain and then I continue on with the rest of the books. If it has been like 2 years or 3, I will re-read the book. (I guess I'll re-read unwind because I've read it in 2012.) Marathoning series it totally my thing, I like reading them back to back to back! :)

8. You do not want anyone. ANYONE. borrowing your books. How do you politely tell people nope when they ask?

Hahaha! I don't get why would someone ask you to borrow your books anyways, they should at least wait until you offer or something. One thing I do, is that I tell them someone else is borrowing that book.  If I trust that person with my book, I will let them borrow it. (Not a lot of people ask to borrow my books, thank God.)

9. Reading ADD. You’ve picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over your reading slump?

Ohh, that would be depressing. I usually will read a book I REALLY want to read, I never put down an overly hyped book; I would read that. Overly hyped books arouse my curiosity, I keep wondering what about them is that interesting that everyone else loves them? Although that would never happen with me. If I'm in a reading slump though, I don't read. I will catch up on some TV shows or listen to an audio book. Reading slumps usually fix themselves, I get interested afterwards so I ease myself back into reading with an intriguing dystopian or a light contemporary.

10. There are so many new books coming out that you’re dying to read! How many do you actually buy?

Only the ones I've been anticipating, I'm trying to stop myself from buying books. If my TBR shelf goes down, I will allow myself to buy all the books I need. Does anyone else fail at keeping their TBR shelf minimal? I surely am not the only one..

11. After you’ve bought the new books you can’t wait to get to, how long do they sit on your shelf before you get to them?

This is the embarrassing part, books sit on my shelves for several months and years. If this book I've bought and I've been wanting for a long time, I will get to it right away. There are just too many books and too little time, if only they'd do something about that.. maybe stop time? Increase our reading speed? I would fly through my TBR shelves.. Okay I'm daydreaming, I need to stop..

This was the end of the tag everyone! :) I hope you have an amazing day x

Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award

I was nominated for this award by Gloria @ Gloria The Violinist  Thank you soo much Gloria! :), go check out her blog everybody.. she's AWESOME.

My answers to Gloria's questions:

1. What is the first book you ever read out of your own free will ?

That's a hard one, but probably a Roald Dahl book. I don't actually remember my first ever book that I've read..

2. If you could replace your best friend with any book character, would you do it ? If yes, with who ?

I would definitely choose Gale from The Hunger Games. He is so supportive and caring over Katniss and even though he loves her, he wants the best for her. I'm team Gale if you haven't noticed..

3. How many books do you own ?

Most of my owned books are ebooks. I find them more convenient, I have around 150 books.. not too many but as I've mentioned, I own more ebooks than actual books :)

4. Which book character is the most like you ?

In determination and the love of family, Katniss Everdeen
In the fangirl aspect, being non social, Cather from Fangirl
In the falling so hard in love aspect, Lena from Delirium

Am I cheating for choosing 3..? um I don't think so..

5. Which book character do you hate the most ?

Abby from A beautiful disaster. OH MY GOD, she annoyed me SO MUCH!

6. What is your favorite color ?

This Blue and black

7. If you would write a book, what would be the main character's name ?

Probably Elena, even though I hate Elena from TVD, I love her name.

8. If you could live in any country, which one would you live in ?

France, hands down. In Paris.

9. What is it about reading that you like so much ?

I love that readers get to transport into different worlds, every book you've ever read is a world that gets you sucked in. You can indulge in the life of the characters and you can feel them, it's kind of an escape from your real life into theirs.

10. If you could switch lives with a book character, who would it be ?

TRIS from Divergent, oh I wouldn't do that because Allegiant haha
I just want to be Four's love interest.. sue me. He's hot.

Book TAG: The Random Question Tag

 I was tagged by:

Thank you for tagging me guys! J Also, check out their blogs, they’re amazing.

Have you ever thrown a book?

NO!? I wouldn’t dare. Once, my sister threw out the book I was mad at her for a whole day. Besides, I love worn out books anyways.

Do you like lengthy books or short ones?

Depends on the author and the storyline. Some books are lengthy that I love and I enjoy living in the world of the author for a while and I like the writing style of the author and other books I feel like they should be short and it’s enough for me to get closure.

If you don’t like a book, do you stop reading it or finish it?

I usually begin any book by disliking it, it takes me a while to get into a book. If I really dislike it and it causes me a reading slump because I don’t want to come near it, usually I wouldn’t finish it. Guilty. It only happened with two books before though.

Do you stop reading when you’re tired, or when a chapter finishes?

Definitely when a chapter finishes, unless I fell asleep. Who would intentionally leave a chapter unfinished? Wouldn’t you die to know what happens next? I usually don’t stop at one chapter, the ending of a chapter just keeps me going and that’s when you know it’s a good book.

How do you organize your shelf?

I organize my shelves by size. The books I like and that are pretty go on my visible shelves, the books I don’t like and look bad on my shelves, I put them in a less visible shelf somewhere else in my room.

Paperback or hardcover?
I think hardcover books are the most beautiful things I’ve ever laid my eyes on, but where I live hardcover books are extremely expensive and to be honest, they’re harder to read from. I like paperbacks more because they’re more convenient and I own more of them. Looks wise, hardcovers all the way.

A book you cannot wait to read?

Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I’m dying to read that series already, but I don’t think I’m ready for it quite yet.

A book that disappointed you?

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, it made me dislike all of Paulo Coelho’s books and I couldn’t finish it.

What book made you cry recently?

Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover, I’ve recently finished it and LOVED IT! Check out my review here

Do you prefer buying books online or going to the bookstore?

I buy ebooks online, A LOT. But I definitely prefer going to the bookstore and holding the book in my hands. I keep looking at it on my shelf all day.. crazy? Maybe..

Do you prefer to listen to music while reading or do you read in silence?

I read in silence, it helps me focus more and I like reading at night while everyone’s sleeping and the only sound I hear is the sound of the pages turning.

What is the weirdest thing you’ve ever experienced when reading a book?

I haven't experienced anything weird at all actually while reading, I usually read in my bed at home. It's relaxing and it helps me fall asleep better.

What was your first fandom?

Unlike everyone one else on planet Earth, Twilight was my first and not Harry Potter. At the time I thought it was too mainstream and I didn’t want to jump on the bandwagon but I regret that now.. I haven’t read them all and I cannot get into them I don’t know why. I need help.

What fictional character do you relate to most?

That's a really hard one, I don't relate to any character on a personal level and I can't really think of any rare ones atm..

What fictional character do you wish you were more like?

Tris from Divergent or Cassie from The 5th Wave. I wish I was as badass as these two.

If you could spend a whole day with five characters, who would you pick?

I will shamelessly pick 5 fictional boyfriends of mine. Tobias Eaton from Divergent, Evan Walker from The 5th Wave, Alex from Delirium, Edward Cullen from Twilight and finally Thomas from The Maze Runner since he is Dylan O'Brien in the movie and he is beyond hot..

What is a book that exceeded all your expectations?

Delirium by Lauren Oliver, I thought it was too mainstream, but it was perfect.

Axie @ Books are Bread

I also tag everyone, so if you like to do this tag let me know by leaving a link to it in the comments and I would check it out! J

Book TAG: The Doctor Who Tag

I was tagged to do this tag by Glora Lo @ Gloria The Violinist . Thank you for tagging me <3
I really don't get what exactly is "Doctor Who" I think it's a TV show of some sort. I'll be doing this tag anyways.. hahaha

First doctor : what is your favorite first book in a series ?

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Surely.. or Delirium because I simply love Alex and Lena beyond words

Second doctor : What is your favorite sequel ?

Insurgent by Veronica Roth.

Third doctor : What is your favorite trilogy ?

DELIRIUM. Hands down.

Fourth doctor : What is your most colourful book ?

I'm thinking Arms and the Man by Bernard Shaw. This one's a classic and I've read it for school 3 years ago. LOVED IT.

Fifth doctor : What is a book about sports that you've read ?

I couldn't think of anything since I actually despise sports, but something came to mind. In Nicholas Sparks' The Last Song, Will played volley ball. that counts right? haha

Sixth doctor : What is a book with a really powerfull villain that you've read ?

PRESIDENT SNOW from The Hunger Games. I hate him omg

Seventh doctor : What is your favorite adult or dark book ?

Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. It's an amazing thriller.

Eighth doctor : What is your favorite romance novel ?

That's very weird, I know, but I used to be a huge Nicholas Sparks fan, I've read most of his books and my favorite was Safe Haven. I'm sorry all you romance fanatics out there.. I'm just blank and I can't think of anything.

War doctor : What is a book you wish you could forget you've ever read ?

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. I hated that book.

Ninth doctor : What is a book that made you pick up a genre again ?

The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey, it made me fall in love with Sci-fi/ fantasy.

Tenth : What is your favourite super-hyped book ?

Sorry guys, it's The Fault in our Stars by John Green. I know this is SUPER-HYPED, but I loved it before everyone on Earth loved it. It's so unfair, I know people who read it before it was famous can relate..

Eleventh doctor : What is your favorite children's or middle grade book ?

This is easy. Matilda by Roald Dahl. My ultimate favorite childhood book. Next to that is The Witches, also by Roald Dahl.

Twelfth doctor : what new release are you anticipating ?

This book has already been released, but I'm dying to get my hands on The Infinite Sea by Rick Yancey, which is the 5th Wave book #2. Aghh can't wait for it to hit Egypt already..

I hope you liked that tag everyone :)
Have an awesome day

TAG: The Ten Book Challenge

Hello everyone!

So I've been tagged to do this challenge by Gloria Lo, check out her amazing answers.. thanks for tagging me x

You will list 10 books that have stayed with you and have affected you in some way.

   1. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

I've read this book before it was popular and it's what really got me into reading again, I was lagging A LOT since I was busy with school work and it encouraged me to read again.

 2. The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

I cannot talk about this book enough, it's my favorite. why you ask? because it opened my eyes to things that I've never been fully aware of before, it made me 'experience' how the Jews were being treated, with utmost cruelty from Hitler and it made me sympathize with them even more.. I cried when I watched the movie.. it also made me fall in love with Leisel Meminger, she loves book even though she couldn't read them, it makes you believe in the power of words, and that everything can be healed by a book.

3. Silas Marner by George Eliot

This is a classic, I read this book and I've fallen in love with it. It made me have hope in the future and to never give up. It teaches you that what goes around comes back around and that God is fair.

4. Matilda by Roald Dahl

I will never be ashamed of my liking of this book, I read this when I was 9 -I'm almost 18 now- and I LOVED IT SO MUCH. I still love it to this day. The story behind my liking of this book is that I was a nerd back then, I used to read and my friends would make fun of me for reading but I never cared.
Once I was done with this book I felt invincible. Something about it made me love it and not care what people thought of me, it made me want to be Matilda and be half as smart as she is.. My favorite childhood book and come on.. it's Roald Dahl.

5. Before I die by Jenny Downham

This is another cliche book about cancer patients, similar to TFIOS but it inspired me to live in the moment because the future is never guaranteed and to really appreciate life more because some people are struggling to live for another hour.

6. Malice by Danielle Steel

Malice is about a girl who has been treated terribly, and her luck goes absolutely wrong for decades then everything changes, this gives me hope and makes me have faith in humanity. (As you can see I'm big on inspirational books)

7. Animal Farm by George Orwell

A classic. A simple novel about a bunch of animals in a farm, but carries a HUGE meaning behind it. I hate politics and I don't like going there but with what has been going on in my country, it speaks to me. It's about dictators and overthrowing the system and it will forever stay in my heart.

8. Romeo and Juliet by Shakespear

Most of the books on here are classics.. I mean Shakespear is a huge deal. I only put this book on here because of the love story. I'm a huge fan of love stories and romance and there's nothing more romantic than Shakespear's Romeo and Juliet.

9. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

Ranking 3rd on my favorite books category comes The Perks of Being a Wallflower. It's a perfect combination of romance, friendship and maybe.. (whatever happens to you as a child scars you when you're older?) You would get me if you read it and I wouldn't want to spoil it for you if you didn't.

10. Looking for Alaska by John Green

This comes second on my favorite books category. Looking for Alaska is my favorite John Green book, and NOT The Fault in our Stars contrary to half of the Earth's population.

I hope you enjoyed this challenge,

Tag: WOULD YOU RATHER..

Hello guys! I've seen this awesome tag going around on booktube but I really don't know who it was created by.. I'm sorry for not giving you credit, whoever you are. Anyways, here are my answers! Enjoy :)

Would you rather..

1. Read only trilogies or stand-alones?

I would rather read only trilogies, although this was a hard question but I enjoy living in the story more, and connecting with the characters on a more personal level. Don't get me wrong, I do love stand-alone novels, BUT I just fly through them too quickly..

2. Read only female or male authors?

I hate this question. Seriously though, why the discrimination? That's so mean. I must say that one should never pick his books by the author's gender but, most of my favorite books are by female authors so I'm going along with female.. it really aches me that I left out some good books by male authors but I had to choose. Sorry..

3. Shop at Barnes & Noble or Amazon?

Actually neither because I live in Egypt and it's like living in Narnia. I get to pay A LOT of money for shipping, therefore I get to buy my books from actual bookstores and online book shopping stores here in Egypt.

4. All books become movies or t.v. shows?

This one's also tough. I'd rather have all books become movies because I feel that tv shows can ruin a book for me, the longer the show gets the more off track you go from the book script so I'll go with movies BUT STICK WITH THE BOOK. ALWAYS.

5. Read 5 pages per day or 5 books per week?

Honestly, who would pick 5 pages a day? This would kill me. My curiosity won't allow this, I would rather make it through 5 books a week and I would actually LOVE that.

6. Be a professional reviewer or author?

My dream is to become a professional author, it's something I really aspire to become someday. At this very moment though, I'm content with reviewing books, I love doing that. It's a hard thing to do guys, leaving out the spoilers kill me every time.

7. Only read your top 20 favorite books over and over or always read new ones that you haven't read before?

I won't limit myself therefore I'd definitely only read new books that I haven't read before because honestly, I haven't read my favorite books more than once. I remember doing that once or twice but I don't like that. What if I reread it and hated it? I'd be too scared.

8. Be a librarian or book seller?

I'd rather be a bookseller. Imagine owning your own bookstore.. wow a dream come true

9. Only read your favorite genre, or every genre except your favorite?

Again with limiting myself, I hate it so I'd rather read every other genre except my favorite. Sorry YA, but I actually would experiment with more genres maybe then I'll fall in love with another genre that I didn't know I loved so much. Maybe? I'd like to think that. That question hurts.

10. Only read physical books or eBooks?

I shamefully read less physical books than ebooks. I know I'm bad, but they're just MUCH MORE CONVENIENT.. I'd hate for my book to be tossed around and to be taken everywhere I go and I love always having a book on me so ebooks are my main. Physical books are the bomb to own, imagine having a million physical books. That's the dream.. BUT the question says "read" not "own", so I'd own the physical copy and read the ebook. Yup, I'm sly.
