BOOK REVIEW - History Is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera

This book was insane! I first started this and haven't given it much thought especially because I haven't read anything by Adam before (big mistake). I finished this in two days because I was really anticipating how the story would end. It had me from laughing like an idiot to full on tears in minutes.

History Is All You Left Me is about two guys, Theo and Griffin who have been best friends for a while, then their friendship started taking a turn into a full-on relationship. The pair break up and Theo gets another boyfriend, Jackson. Time passes and Theo unfortunately dies in a terrible accident that has both Griffin and Jackson meet at Theo's funeral in New York. They aren't fans of each other and they've always wanted to cut each other out, but they got over their feud to form an unlikely friendship so they would comfort each others' heartache over their mutual love for Theo.

I loved the diversity of the book. It has the LGBTQ+ characters, one of the main characters has OCD which was portrayed perfectly well, the self-discovery aspect was on point.

I obviously gave this book a 4 out of 5 stars because of the emotions it sparked in me, it could have been a 5 out of 5, but the direction that this book went into was not in my favor I think... The writing style flowed so easily and Adam has this distinct way of writing that makes me want to devour all of his other books. I recommend this to absolutely everyone, it's a great fast-paced read that had me thinking. It includes love and friendship and many other beautiful things so go read it NOW.

If you have read this, comment down below your thoughts! Would love to hear from you and recommend me similar books to this because I thoroughly enjoyed it.

THE FEEEELSSSS!!! Theo and Griffin's relationship was perfect, it was so cute it had me smiling all the time I was reading about their history and to see Griffin so engrossed in his sadness over Theo made me have actual tears in my eyes. I loved how they came out to each other, I loved their first kiss and how Griffin was all nervous around him. I loved every single detail about this right to the point where I knew future Theo had a boyfriend and I was so mad at Theo for breaking up with Griff (or that's what I thought because Griffin was still madly in love with him) and I hated Jackson's guts for intervening between these two and being an obstacle for why they couldn't just easily get back together. #TeamGriffin

As the story progressed, I came to terms with the fact that Theo is a major asshole who wanted to have it all, he kept Griffin waiting and it wasn't healthy for him to tell Griffin upright that if he came to California he'd leave Jackson for him.. and later on we find out that Theo was so allegedly in love with Jackson that he let him in on the different kinds of kisses thing and why would someone do that? I don't hate Theo but I was so disappointed and heartbroken. I've always thought that Theo was so in love with Griffin that he just found a Griff substitute in California to be use and be with for the time being which isn't okay, but I was rooting for this relationship so hard.

Let's move on to the Wade aspect of the story. I knew he had a thing for Griffin ever since that Cedric Diggory key chain! He mentioned it earlier when they both got him the wrong gift and then when Wade actually did it, it was clear to me who paid attention to him more and who was actually worthy of Griffin's love.

It was sad to see Griffin always waiting on Theo, always obsessive over him in a way that wasn't fair for him because he deserved so much better, but I know how it is being with someone or being attached to someone who isn't healthy for you and you become so blinded and couldn't see the truth because you're just too in love. It's sad but it's a road to self-discovery and I'm glag Griffin went through that so he could learn and grow and know his self-worth.

REVIEW | My Heart and Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga

Trigger warning for suicide

This follows Aysel, a science nerd who battles with depression and wants to commit suicide so she starts searching for a suicide partner on a website and finds one who lives really close; Roman. Roman is a star athlete who is extremely popular, but battles with his own suicidal thoughts. The pair decides to make a Suicide Pact and decide to plan their deaths together.

This book was absolutely beautiful. First off, the writing was easy to read so the book felt like it was very fast-paced. The author put this tone in her writing that is inviting to read which made me read this in 2 sittings (which is rare for me because I haven’t picked up a book since April). I found that later, the author wrote this based on a personal traumatic experience which made the story more heart-felt than it already is.

Aysel was an admirable character. She seemed a little bit fiery and irritable at first, but in the end she had problems of her own. To be honest, I didn’t feel for her story as much as I felt for Roman because I didn’t get any backstory from her until the very end which really annoyed me. On the other hand, Roman was the highlight of this whole entire book. I loved him and my heart ached for him in every page I turn.

The contrast between the two characters was intriguing.  It was an amazing representation from the author that anyone can suffer from depression. The most popular guy in school who seems to have a perfect life can suffer from depression and contrary to that, the girl who walks the hallways with her face down while listening to the whispers of her schoolmates. It is great to shed light on the fact that you never ever know what somebody else is going through, no matter how happy or sad they seem on the outside.
I recommend this book to everyone, it’s amazingly written with very lovable characters, but be cautious, this is definitely a tear jerker. This book is extremely sad throughout the whole thing so mentally prepare for it!

Book Review | The DUFF by Kody Keplinger

Goodreads Summary:

Seventeen-year-old Bianca Piper is cynical and loyal, and she doesn’t think she’s the prettiest of her friends by a long shot. She’s also way too smart to fall for the charms of man-slut and slimy school hottie Wesley Rush. In fact, Bianca hates him. And when he nicknames her “the Duff,” she throws her Coke in his face.

But things aren’t so great at home right now, and Bianca is desperate for a distraction. She ends up kissing Wesley. Worse, she likes it. Eager for escape, Bianca throws herself into a closeted enemies-with-benefits relationship with him.
Until it all goes horribly awry. It turns out Wesley isn’t such a bad listener, and his life is pretty screwed up, too. Suddenly Bianca realizes with absolute horror that she’s falling for the guy she thought she hated more than anyone.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Bianca Piper was a strong character that didn't take anybody's bullshit. That was probably one of the main reasons that made her my favorite character and unlike other people, she didn't annoy me.. maybe a little bit?.. and I have my reasons that belong in the spoiler section. Wesley is a man whore, but the fact that I started liking him in the end kind of took me by surprise, it showed how much of a good writer Kody Keplinger is.

DID YOU KNOW she wrote this book when she was seventeen years old?! The thing is, this was extremely relatable and knowing that it was written by somebody who were the same age as the characters (and myself) was very refreshing. I also felt bad for being 18 now and haven't done something as great as write a book. The writing style and the pace of this book were incredible; the writing was easy and simple. The words flowed quickly and I had absolutely no trouble understanding the words, the language used was exactly the language that teenagers use (full of cursing and stuff, that didn't once tick me off). I really think this book is targeted towards high-schoolers and they would greatly enjoy this! Not to mention how fast it will take them to get through this book.

Don't you just LOVE relationships that start out with the love interests despising each other? It reminded me of Kat & Daemon from the Lux Series [My all-time fictional OTP], it made me giddy how much they were attracted to each other and trying to deny it because of the hate that has been brewing between both of them for the longest time. I liked the aspect of not making this an insta-love, because I hate that about most comtemps and is simply a turn off. The romance was developed nicely and I was eagerly waiting for them to be together, just like Anna and the French Kiss

Aside from being a contemporary, this book dealt with some serious topics like family issues, body-image problems and a lot more. I liked the greater picture that is being painted of loving yourself and that it's completely normal to dislike something about your body because everyone in the world goes through this. I especially liked that that something you utterly dislike, can be someone else's favorite thing about you. It's a matter of opinions.

I recommend this book to everyone pretty much, it's VERY relatable, but it is a little bit on the cliche side, so if you don't like that, then you will not like this book. I also mentioned that this contains a lot of cursing, so if you are easily offended by curse words, (nothing too drastic) then don't bother.

ALSO, this book is now a movie, and I loved the trailer. I don't see why most people say that it deviated from the book (maybe because I watched the trailer before reading the book). We'll see how this turns out though..

SPOILERS
(highlight to view)

Onto the things that I didn't like about this.. I didn't like that it took Bianca a guy for her to realize her self-worth. I despised the thought of a man boosting up her self-esteem, but Bianca has grown A LOT by the end of the book and it just wasn't an issue anymore by the end of it.

I disliked the excessive objectifying of the female body, but I must say that this is EXACTLY the way that high-school kids think, so it just portrayed real-life situations. On the other side, I fell in love with the "not calling anybody a whore" part, I don't exactly remember where it was actually located in the book, but I took note of it and wrote down that it was a very good call.

I loved the journalism aspect, because in fact, it's my dream to major in journalism and become a journalist one day :)

Have you read The Duff?! Comment down below if you did and how excited you are for the movie.

Have a great day everybody!

Book Review: Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi (Shatter Me #2)

If you haven't read Shatter Me, don't read this review as it contains spoilers for it. Check out my review of Shatter Me here

Goodreads Synopsis:

tick
tick
tick
tick
tick
it's almost
time for war.

Juliette has escaped to Omega Point. It is a place for people like her—people with gifts—and it is also the headquarters of the rebel resistance.

She's finally free from The Reestablishment, free from their plan to use her as a weapon, and free to love Adam. But Juliette will never be free from her lethal touch.

Or from Warner, who wants Juliette more than she ever thought possible.

In this exhilarating sequel to Shatter Me, Juliette has to make life-changing decisions between what she wants and what she thinks is right. Decisions that might involve choosing between her heart—and Adam's life.

This series is slowly climbing it's way up to my all-time favorites. I cannot talk about this without spoiling it so... GO READ IT. It's better than Shatter Me, a million times. One thing that I say is a must is that you read the novella Destroy Me before reading this book! It will change everything and I couldn't put it down! I've read it in like an hour or two.. (thank you Yvonne if you're reading this <3)

Can we also just admire the covers of these series? I can't stop staring!! They get better as the series goes.

SPOILERS
(highlight to view)

Once again, this book starts with Juliette being a whiny bitch! She doesn't even try to cope with the kick-ass people who are exactly like her and who are clearly trying to help her. Nothing frustrates me more than a main character who has a potential to be strong and doesn't cease the opportunity to do so, she was acting like a baby all the time .

In chapter 21, Kenji scolds Juliette for being a kid and I literally put down the book and applauded him.

I'm team Warner now. Obviously. Does anybody watch the Vampire Diaries? It's kind of similar; Elena makes Damon a better person and so does Juliette with Warner. Whenever Juliette's with Adam, she leans on him and he weakens her.. he always wants to help her and step in for her and same goes with Juliette. Whenever she's with Adam, she literally drains him out of his powers. One of the main reasons that I'm team Warnette is that Warner actually sees Juliette in a new light, he doesn't see her as a threat but as something great. He doesn't want to hone her powers so she would become his little weapon, but for her own good. He sees the great in her and he wants to genuinely help her because he loves her. Which makes my heart warm up with fuzzies.

Speaking of Vampire Diaries and The Originals, does anyone else imagine Warner as a more muscular version of Joesph Morgan? (Klaus from TVD). Warner keeps calling Juliette "love" and that reminds me of Klaus.. P.S. I have a ginormous crush on Joseph Morgan so yay, more points to Warner. Haha

My favorite scene in the book is when Warner and Juliette meet for the first time after she shot him and after the dog incident (which actually made me smile like an idiot). Warner reciting the contents of Juliette's notebook .. their tension and their natural chemistry is AMAZING!! More points to Warner there too.

HA! When I found out that "Aaron" - Warner- and Adam were brothers my Delena/Stelena theory made me laugh. It was a good resemblance on my part and it actually is an interesting revelation. My jaw dropped. That definitely means that Anderson has powers as well.. AND CAN MAYBE EVEN TOUCH JULIETTE. (I mean James does too, that kid is adorable.) Who knows? It'll take me a while to get to Ignite Me and Fracture Me unfortunately.

The fact that Warner has a 'harnessing' gift was kind of expected for me. It would take this trilogy into a new direction, I'm quite sure he'll join Juliette and the others to go against his dad? But what will Adam do though? He'll FLIP.

I also can't wait till Warner finds out that Adam is his BROTHER. So much I need to know and I will not accept being spoiled for..

Have you read Unravel Me? Tell me down below what you thought! :)

Have a great day everybody!

Book Review: The Girl on the Train by Paula Hawkins

Goodreads:

A debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives.

Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. “Jess and Jason,” she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel offers what she knows to the police, and becomes inextricably entwined in what happens next, as well as in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?

A compulsively readable, emotionally immersive, Hitchcockian thriller that draws comparisons to Gone Girl, The Silent Wife, or Before I Go to Sleep, this is an electrifying debut embraced by readers across markets and categories.

4.5 stars out of 5

I received this eARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was super excited to get into this book, a lot of people resembled it to Gone Girl and don't get me wrong, I LOVED this book.. but Gone Girl cannot be topped.

This follows Rachel, a woman with too many troubles of her own and discovers an escape everyday on the train. She watches a couple on the terrace of their house and fantasizes about their relationship - their names, their jobs and their personalities. One day, crisis strikes and disrupts her already messed up life. Rachel finds herself involved in stuff that she cannot get out of. She was an unreliable narrator, one of many characters that I strongly disliked. All of the characters in this one were faulty characters and they were just terrible.

I must say that this book was kind of boring at the start, it took me some time to get into it. Once I did, I was trying to crack the mysteries and figure out where on earth did the missing person go. I was juggling possibilities and honestly, I didn't see the ending coming AT ALL. I didn't see ANYTHING coming and that's why my rating was that high.

The writing was phenomenal. Paula Hawkins made me visualize everything so perfectly and she had this ability of incorporating random clues throughout the book that tie in perfectly in the end. A mystery/thriller genius, I must say.

All in all, this book was a fantastic ride, it had me thinking to this very day and I feel like it did stick with me. I remember every detail vividly and I'm writing this review a month or so after reading the book, that's an indication of how good it was!

On the other hand, this book was a bit graphic, I would NOT recommend it to young readers.

SPOILERS
(highlight to view)

I HATED RACHEL TOO MUCH!!! Her clinging to Tom after clearly moving on bothered me to a huge extent. Her stalking and creeping as well, like come on Rachel!! Put your shit together. Her weakness to alcohol and her drinking problem bothered me as well, her recollections were extremely unreliable and no one was taking her seriously because of that. She put herself in terrible situations, but in the end, she made up for everything by killing Tom! I was rooting for her and Megan to end that motherfucker's life haha. Way to go!

I never suspected Tom except for when he took Rachel to "talk" and didn't tell Anna about it. I thought he was cornering her somewhere private so he can end her life without anyone noticing. Ironically enough, he did that to Megan.

Okay, now with Anna's POV incorporation. I knew that something was bound to happen with her POV being thrown into the mix. I hated her nonetheless, the only character that was likable was her daughter haha

Scott, you have some serious anger management issues and that just fucked you over as a husband of a missing person/a dead woman. (Why did they say that she was dead in the synopsis? I just noticed that and hey, THAT'S A SPOILER. Thank God I didn't pay much attention to it while reading this.) - I suspected him all along, but I figured it'd be too cliche if he really was the killer. The husband is never the killer (thanks Gone Girl).

Have you read The Girl on the Train?! What did you think? If not, are you excited? :)

Have a great day!

Book Review: Love Hurts by Malorie Blackman

Goodreads:

Malorie Blackman brings together the best teen writers of today in a stunningly romantic collection about love against the odds. Featuring short stories and extracts about modern star-crossed lovers from stars such as Gayle Forman, Markus Zusak and Patrick Ness, and with a brand-new story from Malorie Blackman herself, Love Hurts looks at every kind of relationship, from first kiss to final heartbreak.
2.75 Stars

I received this eARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I requested this book in hopes of it being a light contemporary that is a collection of short stories tied in together to form something beautiful in the end, and to my disappointment, it wasn't like that AT ALL.

This book is a collection of excerpts of previously published books like If I Stay, We Were Liars, More Than This et cetera..  I skipped most of the stories to avoid spoilers and the stories that I have read, I also skipped.

To be honest, this book did have its perks. It added a ton of books to my TBR (Not sure whether this is a pro or a con, because my TBR pile is overflowing.), it was also so very refreshing to read a book by so many authors. The writing style of some of these authors captivated me and it pushed me into putting their books higher on my TBR list, it was beautiful how a 30 page excerpt totally lured me into the story and I needed more of it, especially that I didn't know the characters and I didn't connect to them on any level.

In theory, I disliked the fact that I was thrown into a part of the novel and having to be oblivious to who the characters are, but I'm guessing that is was a method of pushing the reader into buying and reading the whole book.

Some of my favorite "excerpts" that I remember I liked were:

  • The Infinite Moment of Us by Lauren Myracle
  • Naughts and Crosses by Malorie Blackman
  • You Against Me by Jenny Downham
  • More Than This by Patrick Ness
  • If I Stay by Gayle Forman (I MUST read this book)
One of the things that I highly recommend is NOT reading anthologies back to back, it should be read over a long period of time. I also learned that anthologies is not my thing, but that's besides the point.

I have to mention that I ADMIRED the diversity in this one, there are LGBT, characters of color and different ethnicities.

I usually NEVER give books 2 stars, but this one really wasn't for me. That doesn't necessarily mean that it's not a good one, it just means that this isn't for me and maybe it is for YOU. I was simply just disappointed by it.

Have you read Love Hurts? I'm curious to know your thoughts, leave them in the comments down below! :)

Have a great day everybody!

Book Review: Shatter Me by Tahereh Mafi (Shatter Me #1)

 Synopsis:

Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days.

The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war – and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.

Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

Man oh man did I miss dystopias! I for one, fell in love with Tahereh Mafi's writing. She has this poetic flow of words and it's beautiful! I love the aspect of sentences or words being strikethrough, I haven't read anything like that before and it's the first thing that I took notice of in this book.

As always, I'm late to the party. I'm really late to reading this book and it didn't live up to the hype surrounding it; I flew threw this and I feel like it could have been shorter or some action could've been squeezed in there to fill out this book more. Also, I feel like at first, I loved the writing, but as I was almost more than half-way through, I got sick of Juliette and I wanted to strangle her. She was too weak and vulnerable and dramatic.. she got on my nerves!!

There weren't any characters to stand out in this one, I don't trust Kenji and I sure as hell DON'T trust Adam. Warner is a jerk and James is by far the only tolerable character. Witty humor is my thing, I love me a levity! In Shatter Me, there wasn't one character to lighten things up with some humor (such as Ron in Harry Potter, ah I love Ron).

My feelings are jumbled up about this book, but the writing throws it all away. Tahereh Mafi is absolutely eloquent and although this lacked world-building and some plot lines, I liked the metaphors and the deep thinking and repetition. I would say that it is either a hit or miss for some people and for me it was a total hit!

One thing that made me regret reading this too late is the fact that I didn't like Warner, not at all. It pisses me off that everyone is "Team Warner" for two reasons. One, I was searching for reasons to hate Adam and like Warner and I found none. Two, I don't want to revisit the Twilight drama all over again.. I'm not fond of love triangles and they make me hate the female protagonist.

Overall, I really did like this book. If you are awed by beautiful writing that hits you right in the gut then this book is for you, if not, then you'll be incredibly displeased. I would also recommend going into this with really low expectations and you'll be met with higher ones, I can guarantee you that.

Now for the spoilers..
(Highlight to view)

ADAM AND JULIETTE. This love story I didn't like.. I don't know whether it is because of the hype or because I just don't trust Adam. He gave me a lot of reasons not to trust him, he conveniently comes in as a cellmate and pretends not to know her, then he hands her on a silver platter to The Reestablishment?! No way.. if he loved her, he wouldn't do this to her. He wouldn't hand her to Warner!! I don't understand this.. It seems like Warner is right, she is his only way out of this place. I trust Warner, he is a jerk, but he is an honest jerk..

Now for the touching theories, how can both Warner and Adam touch Juliette? Is this something she can control or do they both have abilities too? It doesn't make sense to me, I want a solid reasoning to the fact that they both can touch her! And if they have abilities and can touch her, why doesn't everyone else with abilities touch her? Like Kenji, Winston and Castle?

I'm starting the second book straight away, I need ANSWERS! So frustrated.. Also, this would make a great movie! Right?!! ..

Share your thoughts down below, I'd love to read them!

Have a great day everyone.

PREVIEW Review: A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab

Goodreads:

From V.E. Schwab, the critically acclaimed author of Vicious, comes a new universe of daring adventure, thrilling power, and parallel Londons, beginning with A Darker Shade of Magic.

Kell is one of the last Travelers—magicians with a rare, coveted ability to travel between parallel universes—as such, he can choose where he lands.

There’s Grey London, dirty and boring, without any magic, ruled by a mad King George. Then there’s Red London, where life and magic are revered, and the Maresh Dynasty presides over a flourishing empire. White London, ruled by whoever has murdered their way to the throne—a place where people fight to control magic, and the magic fights back, draining the city to its very bones. And once upon a time, there was Black London...but no one speaks of that now.

Officially, Kell is the Red Traveler, personal ambassador and adopted Prince of Red London, carrying the monthly correspondences between the royals of each London. Unofficially, Kell is a smuggler, servicing people willing to pay for even the smallest glimpses of a world they’ll never see—a dangerous hobby, and one that has set him up for accidental treason. Fleeing into Grey London, Kell runs afoul of Delilah Bard, a cut-purse with lofty aspirations, who first robs him, then saves him from a dangerous enemy, and then forces him to spirit her to another world for a proper adventure.

But perilous magic is afoot, and treachery lurks at every turn. To save all of the worlds, Kell and Lila will first need to stay alive—and that is proving trickier than they hoped.

I received this eARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Reading this book, I felt super confused and overwhelmed with emotions, I blamed myself for not focusing and kept rereading the sentences but to no avail. The information of the 3 Londons was thrown at me like daggers from everywhere and I couldn't quite keep up..

About 20 pages in, I got the hang of the action and I was immersed into the world. I was hooked from the very first page though, and it was my first time ever reading anything by the eloquent Victoria Schwab and she fascinated me in every way possible. Her writing is addictive, beautiful and you just cannot not admire it.

This whole preview is mostly from Kell's point of view; Kell is a great protagonist, he is kick-ass and witty with a smart sense of humor. We also get to see a sneak peek of Lila's life. A thief who dresses up like a man and is an aspiring pirate. I also loved the idea of different Londons (Black, Gray, White and Red.) The idea that the inhabitants of Grey London don't even admit to the presence of magic contrasting with Red London's lively use of magic just blew me away.

I loved the details of which the author added of Kell and his many sided coat (also added to the synopsis). The aspect of parallel Londons intertwined with magic and awesomeness is unique and completely new to me!

About Prince Rhy, I can't wait to see more of him, I also want to know more about Lila and her life. I need to get my hands on the whole book so I can conquer it. It's definitely high on my TBR list in 2015.

Let's just admire the cover for a bit now, it blends in with the story and I love covers that do that!! It's not just random, it actually makes you guess what the story is about.

Overall, I gave this 150 page preview a 4/5 stars solely because I was a bit confused..  I'm super pumped for this one.

Are you excited to read this book? Tell me in the comments below!

Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…

Thanks to his alien mojo, Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems.

Something worse than the Arum has come to town…

The Department of Defense are here. If they ever find out what Daemon can do and that we're linked, I’m a goner. So is he. And there's this new boy in school who’s got a secret of his own. He knows what’s happened to me and he can help, but to do so, I have to lie to Daemon and stay away from him. Like that's possible. Against all common sense, I'm falling for Daemon. Hard.

But then everything changes…

I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. What happened to his brother? Who betrayed him? And what does the DOD want from them—from me?

No one is who they seem. And not everyone will survive the lies…

The Lux series is now my favorite. If you haven't read the first book, go check out my review here

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS

I have two words for you; Daemon Black. How is Daemon so freaking attractive? The whole time I was reading this, I was reminded of Damon from Vampire Diaries but with piercing green eyes.

At first, I really thought Blake Saunders was a good guy. As the story progressed, I couldn't trust him anymore and I knew that there was something extremely wrong with him.

Will on the other hand was shady and when he kept staring at her, I knew something was up with him. I thought he was involved with the DOD in some way, but I felt so bad for Kellie; her mother.

POOR POOR ADAM, he was my favorite and he didn't deserve that. I can't believe how Dee finally had him and in a second, she lost him again. The notion is overwhelming and sad, I loved them together. I don't think Dee would ever forgive Blake for what he did.

I DIDN'T EXPECT THAT ENDING! Dawson is alive and well. This made me so happy! I believe that the have put themselves in a huge trap, but we'll see where things go in Opal..

If you've read these books, please comment down below which one was your favorite. Don't spoil me, thank you. :)
Have a great day everyone!

THOUGHTS: The Maze Runner by James Dashner - The MOVIE

Hello guys!

I'm sorry I haven't blogged in a while, I'm doing NaNoWriMo 2014 :)
I recently seen the Maze Runner movie and I LOVED IT, so I thought I'd fill you in on my thoughts.

This book is a great adaptation, they made us feel the characters and understand the plot; you can easily fall in love with the movie even if you haven't read the book.

Teresa and Thomas were greatly portrayed, Alby, Chuck and even Minho look just like how I envisioned them. They picked out great actors to play the characters, and they did well.

One thing I disliked was that they didn't show the Tomas and Teresa connection more, like the mind telepathy thing. That would've been interesting, they only gave a hint when Thomas was reminiscing on the past when he got stung; therefore only the ones who read the book would understand.

I agree that some scenes were different from the book, but I loved it. I'm ashamed to say that I loved it even more than the book; it got me more excited to read The Scorch Trials and The Death Cure :)

I would totally recommend reading the book first though, and giving it a chance and to be patient with it, it's boring at first but then it's a good book!

Have YOU seen the Maze Runner? Comment down below what you thought!

Have an amazing day! :)
