Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by @ BreakingTheSpine where you share with the world one book that you're anticipating the release of or getting your hands on.
[PS, I've written that post a long time ago, but for some strange reason, I forgot to post it. I'm sorry, but yay! This book is out now. I insisted on posting it because I'm genuinely excited for this one and want to spread the love.]
Goodreads Summary:
In this intimate memoir of life beyond the camera, Connor Franta shares the lessons he has learned on his journey from small-town boy to Internet sensation—so far. Here, Connor offers a look at his Midwestern upbringing as one of four children in the home and one of five in the classroom; his struggles with identity, body image, and sexuality in his teen years; and his decision to finally pursue his creative and artistic passions in his early twenties, setting up his thrilling career as a YouTube personality, philanthropist, entrepreneur, and tastemaker.
Exploring his past with insight and humor, his present with humility, and his future with hope, Connor reveals his private struggles while providing heartfelt words of wisdom for young adults. His words will resonate with anyone coming of age in the digital era, but at the core is a timeless message for people of all ages: don’t be afraid to be yourself and to go after what you truly want.
This full-color collection includes photography and childhood clippings provided by Connor and is a must-have for anyone inspired by his journey.

When I heard that THE Connor Franta was coming out with a book, I knew that it would be completely artistic and I love everything about this, from the book cover to the title!
I usually am not with the idea of YouTubers writing books and using their fame to sell them, but I am really excited for this book!! Connor is a great person and a memoir is pretty logical for a famous person, I would love to see things from his perspective.
Are you excited for Connor's book?! Comment your thoughts down below :)
I've heard such great things about this. I'll definitely have to check it out.

Really?! That's awesome! I haven't heard anything about this one yet, so this is great news♥
DeleteSo, last night I saw someone on twitter from my city sharing that they got the book in the mail and now I am seeing a post about it on the blogging world! I don't really know who Connor is and I feel ashamed because I do watch a few youtubers so.. yeah...I don't really read memoirs but maybe I'll give this one a try since this is about digital sucess and that is something I am interested in :)
ReplyDeleteOhh they are lucky! and who do you watch? Connor is like from the most famous out there :), I'm sure if you've seen him you'd notice him or something.. It is very interesting to me! Especially that Connor came out last year at the age of 21 or something which blew me away. I respect him so much more now♥
DeleteI'm not really into memoirs (well, I haven't really read any to judge that but still), but I think I'm going to have to make an exception for Connor because I just adore him so much!
ReplyDeleteME TOO!! I don't think I've read many memoirs.. but Connor is the best♥
DeleteI like Connor. I used to watch him and O2L a lot too. I stopped watching them a while ago because they had changed a lot and I just wasn't connecting or really enjoying what they were doing. Seeing Connor back away and take charge of his own life and just make things he's passionate about is great. I'm actually pretty proud of everything he's done this past year. This book is a bit of a shock for me and I'm not sure what to expect but as an old fan i'm sure i'll enjoy. Hopefully you'll get to read it too when it comes out :)
ReplyDeleteYessss same! I unsubscribed to o2l once Connor left because it became very boring and I'm glad they broke up. It wasn't working out and I got sick of Kian and JC so I unsubbed to them as well hahaha (thats probably so mean). I'm thinking the same thing! But I'm interested in his life and Connor is naturally an artistic person so I'm excited to see what he has in store :)♥
DeleteI keep seeing this book on my Instagram feed and I never knew he was a youtuber. I don't watch him so I might go and see some of his videos to kinda get a vibe of how he is but as you said, I'm not so happy with this youtubers "writing" books wave that is going on. Seriously, it's getting ridiculous. I understand publishers are using that fame to sell and they are being intelligent. It's all about making money and maybe this kind of stuff bring enough income to do other stuff but trying to tell us they wrote those books it's what bothers me. We're not stupid. We know most of them probably never typed a word but oh, well... I hope you enjoy this though
ReplyDeleteYou shoullddd! Give him a try, he's funny and adorable. I know where you're coming from, it's very upsetting to me as someone who loves books to see them getting an advantage over those who are genuinely talented who are also striving to get a chance to get their books out there. It's so annoying and that's why I made a vow to myself that I'll never pick up a book by a youtuber unless it's Zoe, Connor or Joe Sugg. They are very dedicated and work hard for everything which is why I'm giving Connor's book a try. Plus, it's a memoir, not a fictional story, that pretty much was my incentive.
DeleteThank you so much Noelia♥ I hope you check Connor out and love him as much as I do!
