TOP 10 AUTHORS I STILL NEED TO READ! | 2015 Edition

Hello lovely human beings!

Today I'll be sharing with you my huge embarrassment as these are the 10 authors that I need to read, but I haven't got a chance to do so yet..

*WARNING: some of these may be tooooo shocking for some people, please don't judge hahaha

1. Rick Riordan

I know, I put the most surprising one first. I know what you're thinking, I have the books.. I just need to pick them up! I need to delve into the world of Percy Jackson. SOON.

2. Brandon Sanderson

This one I'm not so guilty about, but I'm dying to read anything by him. I know he's a fantasy genius and his books spiraled to be super hyped up. I can't wait to decide for myself, but his books are massive and I'm honestly scared of his books. Maybe one day I feel inspired enough to pick one up.

3. Patrick Ness

More Than This has been on my TBR for sooo long. He has The Rest of Us Just Live Here coming out or it did? I don't know for sure, but I'm planning on buying them both and reading them asap. I've read an excerpt of More Than This and LOVED it!

4. A.S. King

Need I say more? I'm sorry okay? hahaha there is too many books and too little time. (story of every bookworm's life

5. Maggie Stiefvater

I haven't had much luck with Maggie. The first book I picked up by her is Shiver and that went TERRIBLY wrong. I picked it up like 4 times insisting I should read it and I fail every time. It sucks and I decided to DNF it. I've heard more than amazing things about The Raven Boys though, so I'll be picking the books very soon and will give her another chance like Shiver never even happened. She's many people's favorite author so.. this says something

6. Holly Black

The Darkest Part of the Forest came out and I added it to The Coldest Girl in Cold Town to read. Everybody loves Holly Black and I can't because I haven't read any of her books...

7. Libba Bray

Beauty Queens. I've heard it's empowering, funny and has a strong feminism message which is totally my cup of tea, but I postpone reading it all the time. I always pick other books over it. Lair of Dreams is coming out soon as well, but I'm not planning on reading The Diviners. It's a HUGE one. Plus, the new covers are ugly..

8. Cassandra Clare

Before you say anything, I'll fix this! I have The Infernal Devices series. I'm not planning on picking up TMI soon. I don't think I'll ever pick them up, but TID, sure. Maybe sometime this year.

9. Gayle Forman

This one is controversial. Gayle Forman is a lot of people's favorite, but some hate her writing style/books. I've been scared of picking up her books because I don't want to waste my time, but I will pick up I Was Here. Maybe if I tried that one out, I'll pick up If I Stay and Just One Day? Is that the name of her other trilogy or duo-logy? No idea.

10. Neil Gaiman

Before you go crazy on me, I REALLY want to read something by him. I really do. The Ocean at the End of the Lane is on my radar, I just have to find it for cheap because it's tiny and SUPER expensive where I live..

Is any of these authors on your list? Tell me down in the comments and also let me know if I should get on with reading any of these authors' books ASAP.♥

Have a great day!

  3. Brandon Sanderson and Neil Gaiman are authors I really need to read too. I've read at least one book from all the others you mentioned though!
If you don't want to commit to a series, you could always try The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater before you try The Raven Boys - I loved it more that the first Raven Boys book to be honest.
Also, yes, you must read The Infernal Devices as well as something by A. S. King - I haven't read anything but Please Ignore Vera Dietz by her, but that was so good that her other novels must be really great too.
Good luck reading from all these authors!

  4. I've not read the Percy Jackson books either! I've heard great things but I fear I won't enjoy them that much since most people read them when they were younger. Beauty Queens is one of my favorites! It was hilarious.

  5. I've read most of these authors except for Patrick Ness. I feel as though I have sinned in the book world for never having read any of his books!

  6. Hey girl! Just wanted to stop by and check in! I'm writing a children's Christmas book (yay!) and thought you might be interested in checking it out! Of course, you don't have to donate if you don't want to, but if you like the concept, maybe you could help me get the word out?! The campaign can be found at www.gofundme.com/christmasbook! Let me know!

I also wanted to tell you that I have the kindle version of The Ocean at the End of the Lane! If you have a kindle, I'll totally email it to you! I thought it was really good, but then again, I always enjoy Neil Gaiman's books!

    Hope you're well!

    xx

  7. If you love fantasy you definitely should pick up anything by Brandon Sanderson. He knows what he's doing for sure! And Rick Riordan!! I adore Percy & Co; I loved the way Riordan used different myths to create the different adventures. I had a blast reading both series and I'm definitely picking up whatever he releases next, which is about Norse Mythology and you can say I'm excited!
Last month I picked up The Raven Boys and I enjoyed it a lot, more than I was expecting but I know that book (and the writing style) is not for everybody so keep that in mind. I haven't read her Shiver series but I haven't heard the most amazing things either so I will not try and read that.
I read The Diviners last year and it was a huge letdown. I was expecting to love it but it wasn't the case.... buuuu xD and I also need to read more by Patrick Ness since A Monster Calls was on my TOP 3 favourite books of 2014 :)
