Title: Joyride
Author: Anna Banks
Expected publication: June 2nd 2015
Publisher: Feiwel & Friends
Summary:
A popular guy and a shy girl with a secret become unlikely accomplices for midnight pranking, and are soon in over their heads—with the law and with each other—in this sparkling standalone from NYT-bestselling author Anna Banks.
It’s been years since Carly Vega’s parents were deported. She lives with her brother, studies hard, and works at a convenience store to contribute to getting her parents back from Mexico.
Arden Moss used to be the star quarterback at school. He dated popular blondes and had fun with his older sister, Amber. But now Amber’s dead, and Arden blames his father, the town sheriff who wouldn’t acknowledge Amber's mental illness. Arden refuses to fulfill whatever his conservative father expects.
All Carly wants is to stay under the radar and do what her family expects. All Arden wants is to NOT do what his family expects. When their paths cross, they each realize they’ve been living according to others. Carly and Arden’s journey toward their true hearts—and one another—is funny, romantic, and sometimes harsh.
If you do not know who Anna Banks is, have you been living under a rock? She's the New York Times Bestselling author of The Syrena Legacy series. I haven't read anything by her before, but I've heard amazing things about her books! I can't wait for this to be my first one, it seems like an amazing YA contemporary romance. Besides, Anna Banks is incredibly sweet and awesome, you should definitely mark your calendars for when this one comes out! :)
P.S. Anna Banks is having ARC giveaways on her twitter, so go check them out!
- Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Breaking the Spine
Have a good day everyone!

Such a sweet, summer-time cover on this one. It's not my type of book, but I know my students will love it, so I'll have to order it for my library.
ReplyDeleteCheck out my WOW
Yes! I agree, ohhh that would be amazing! <3
DeleteI will :)
I really want to read this now! The blurb sounds interesting, and I adore that cover! Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteRight?!! We have to wait though :(
DeleteYou're so very welcome! :)
Hmmm.. I dunno, I read your blurb but I feel like I already know the pollen, ya know? Its so hard to find original teen romances :( And road-trips are a tad overdone at the moment.. Nevertheless, sometimes predictable is a good thing and this does look fun and sweet :) Maybe.. Maybe not x
ReplyDeleteThe pollen? What?! Thanks auto-correct... The plotline* Is what I meant :o
DeleteAh yes! I totally agree with you on this one, they are kind of a cliche atm and it would catch me by surprise if I loved this book as much as I'm expecting to :)
Deletesometimes you're just in the mood for a cheesy romance? You get me? hahaha
Thanks for stopping by <3
This seems like a great book!
ReplyDeleteIt actually does! I'm excited to finally read something by Anna Banks, but I'm too lazy to commit to a series.. Have you read the Syrena Legacy series? I'd love to know what you think!
DeleteI want to read this as well! I'm hoping it'll be as cute as it sounds!
