BOOKS I COULD NOT FINISH | DNF

Hello lovelies!
Today I'm sharing with the books that I did not finish and my reasoning behind not finishing them.
If your favorite book is on here, please don't be offended. I also don't mean the authors of these books any harm, for instance, I used to LOVE Nicholas Sparks. It was the book that didn't click with me and has nothing to do with the authors. Now that I've cleared things up, let's get to the books.

1. Me and Earl and The Dying Girl by Jesse Andrews
This is one of my favorite people on earth's favorite book [Raeleen Lemay on booktube]. She shares the same favorite books as I do and I was so sure of this, but I couldn't do it. I just felt slumpy and out of it and I couldn't cope with the characters and the weirdness. I felt like I couldn't get through this, even though I was halfway through.

2. The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks
I was in this Nicholas Sparks craze 3 years ago and I read most of his books back then. I started this one so many times and gave it many many chances, but I always put it down to start another book and I didn't pick it up ever since. I just felt like it belonged in the DNF pile.

3. Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
THIS IS MY BIGGEST FRUSTRATION WITH THESE BOOKS. I don't know what it is, but whenever I pick this book up (and trust me, I did like 7 times before I gave up), I felt like I just don't understand what was going on and I got bored and put it down. So I decided not to pick it up ever again and just let it be.

4. Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta
Don't kill me. This one I may actually finish. The problem with this was that it had a lot of characters and I didn't quite get it and I just came out of a terrible slump so I didn't want to push myself to read this even though I didn't get any of the first few chapters. My friend that I buddy read this with -supposedly did so- loved it SO much and told me I should definitely continue on. I think I will someday in the future. This gave me the We Were Liars vibe. So many characters, and I get nothing of the storyline. I put that down as well, but I didn't read much of it to DNF it anyways so.. if you can convince me otherwise, please be my guest. I heard amazing things.

5. Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James
This was the most horrendous book that I have ever laid hands on in my whole life. I just couldn't. It was so ridiculous to me and not even sexy or anything. The characters felt like children with their dialogue and I swear my 8 year old brother can write better than this author. I only picked it up because I was so obsessed with Twilight and heard that it was Twilight fan-fiction. I also read it before the hype, so everyone was surprised I hated it.

6. Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
I have nothing against this book, but I just wasn't interested. I pushed myself through the first half of this and it didn't interest me in any way possible, so I thought I would just stop torturing myself and put it down.

Don't judge me guys.. Tell me if you dnfd any of these books and whether I should give any of them a try, although I doubt it. (except for Jellicoe Road of course)

Love,
